A very happy new year to everyone! I hope 2011 has been good to you as it has been to me. I wish you all the best in 2012.

My new year resolution for this year would be to not make any because I never seem to follow through. My theory is, if I don’t make any, I’ll tend to do what I make impromptu. Makes sense, no?

We’ll be closed 21 January to 20 February for our annual break. It’s been an amazing 2010, even with working through the holidays. I reckon it’s time for a well-deserved holiday, no?

Lots of eating, shopping, and most importantly, catching up with family and friends. I simply cannot wait!

So, any orders placed during the holiday break will only be processed and shipped after 20 February.

Time sure flew by quickly, didn’t it? Seemed like just yesterday when I started Sweet Contemplation Accessories, and now it’s been a whole year!

I’m so thankful for so many things. For my family and friends who supported me in this adventure, something I never thought I would be brave enough to do, and now that I did, I never looked back. Call it a cliche, but I’d call it my, well, calling. I’m thankful to all my wonderful customers who made this possible, who gave me the drive to design more pieces. I’m thankful to my husband, Tim, who never once discouraged me, but helped me in every way he could.

So, what’s for 2011? For one, I hope to expand my designs to beadweaving. I’ve been working on it for a while now, and hope to launch them after the Chinese lunar new year. Improving my jewellery-making skills is my daily challenge, and one that I simply love doing. I also hope to update this blog more often, with articles on beautiful pieces of jewellery I stumbled upon, tips on caring for your jewellery, etc.

You know what they say. Find something you love to do, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I couldn’t agree more.

We’ll be away from May 15 to June 4, because we’re going to Tasmania! My husband, Tim, will be posted there for work for the next three weeks, and I thought, what better time to take a break than joining him there? I’ve never been to Tassie before, and I’m super excited about the trip. Tasmania is underrated as a holiday destination (I reckon all that country sights aren’t everyone’s cup of tea), and I really can’t wait to check it out.

Oh, and another thing. We aren’t even flying there. We’re taking the Spirit of Tasmania!

We’re really getting into the “working holiday” spirit, aren’t we?

Etsy is my absolute favourite shopping site for unique, handmade items. In fact, I have so much fun with it that it’s becoming dangerous for me to even keep the webpage opened on my browser for with my lack of self-control, I will end up buying a LOT of stuff

Well, I’m proud to announce that Sweet Contemplation Accessories is now also on Etsy!

Not every piece is sold on Etsy though. At the moment, the items available on Etsy would be our necklaces, bracelets, watches and bridal jewellery.

Other than the fact that Etsy has a very good and helpful community of similar-minded creative members (*ahem*), which would really help us, the main reason for us to be on Etsy is for the convenience and ease of customers who would prefer to transact in US dollars.

Our USD prices on Etsy are equivalent to the AUD prices on the official Sweet Contemplation Accessories store, from product prices to shipping fees. So, if you would prefer to pay in USD, feel free to purchase from our Etsy store instead.

And guess what? We will also be having promotions on Etsy from time to time which will not be available in store (vice versa)!
